May 2017

From Commander:

Dear Members,

Welcome to spring/summer. One day, forty and raining, the next 75 degrees, so plan your outdoor activities accordingly.

I would like to thank all who participated in our post cleanup day starting with Roy King donating all the mulch, and all who helped spread it. There was cabinet repainting and repair, electrical work and lots of cleaning. Thank you all.

And to Bonnie and the ladies that painted the curb and parking space stripes, thank you, you ladies are wonderful!

New Post officers nominations were announced and there were no contested positions, so watch the board for the list of new officers.

Thank you to the new and current people who stood up to fill officer or eboard positions.

Always plenty of work to do around the Post, so if you have time let us know and we can take care of you.

Thank you to all the members for your patronage and loyalty.

Thank you.
For God and Country
Bart Colvin
Commander

On May 19th, the Post, along with the Boy Scouts, will be trying a new fundraiser, Zionsville Foodie Fridays. The concept is based upon the Indy’s “First Friday Food Truck Festival”. The plans for the event have not been finalized, but we can share the following: 4 food trucks on-site serving from 5-9pm, activities for the kids, and John Stevens, Jr. in the bar from 8-11pm. Admission to the food and activities area will be $5.00, children under 12 free with adults. The Post and Scouts will share in funds raised thru this event.
