APRIL 1ST
9:00AM – ??
Bring your shovels, racks, gloves and your willingness to help us spruce up the grounds, parking lot and inside.
From Commander:
Dear Members,
Spring is officially here no matter what the weather does.
Now the mulching, fertilizing and mowing begins!
April 1st is our post cleanup day, inside and out, hope to see a lot of our members there. See the message board for details.
April also brings Post Officer nominations. Give serious thought to who you would like to operate and maintain our Post for the next year. Your nominee has to be in agreement of holding that position, and accept the nomination. You can give your nomination to a committee member, Bobby Parker, Tom Wothke or Stuart Konija.
Once again the flagpole monument has been backed into. We are going to be forced to install bollards at the corners to keep this from happening. These bollards are unsightly but will protect the monument. This monument represents the loved ones who have served from our community or family of our members. For no one to come forward and report they backed into the monument is very disrespectful.
If you have any other ideas please share them with an officer.
This will be a very busy month coming up so let’s all lend a hand and get our chores done!
Thank you.
For God and Country

From the Auxiliary President:
Happy Spring!
Spring is the time of the year when nature starts to renew itself, the flowers start blooming and the trees budding. It can also be a time when we can renew our desire to be involved with the American Legion to help our Veterans and their families and our community. There are lots of ways we can get involved. Plan to attend the next meeting on Monday, April 10th at 7:00 p.m. to find out what you can do to help. What you think might be a minimal donation of money or time, can go a long way at the American Legion. We look forward to seeing you.
We will be doing the spring clean up on Saturday April 1st starting at 9:00. Trimming bushes, pulling weeds, mulching, etc. Hope you join us to help spruce things up.
Thank you to all who bowled in our league. A portion of the funds that are put into the bowling machine help to support our American Legion Post. Practice up this spring and summer so you will be ready for the next league to start in the fall.
The Auxiliary will be raffling a kids Easter basket. Be sure to get your ticket, they sell out quickly. Thank you for supporting the Auxiliary.
The Auxiliary is sending 3 girls to Girls State this year. 2 girls from Zionsville High School and 1 from Western Boone High School. We hope they have a great time and look forward to hearing about their experience.
If you are shopping on Amazon.com for your spring needs/wants, remember to use Amazon Smiles and select your favorite charity. Amazon donates a portion of your purchase to your charity at no additional cost to you. The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary are listed as charities. Every little bit helps.
God Bless our Troops past, present and future

From the ALR Director:
From the American Legion Riders
Hello Everyone,
First I want to thank everyone for your patience, understanding, and all the help I have received in the transition of my position of the ALR Director. You all have made it seem a lot easier.
Not much to report this month. As you all know the weather is still jumping from cold and wet, and warm to dry, and back again, so we have had no time to ride for our Veterans, or children in need in the area. We do plan on starting our riding season very soon.
We had a good Burger and Pork Chop night last month. We had familiar faces as well as new faces and we were able to sell out on all the burgers and pork chops. We had lots of good conversations with the new people and they really enjoyed their time at our Legion.
I personally want to thank everyone that showed up to help us. Especially the kitchen help, clean up help, grill masters, and all the behind the scenes helpers.
We are raffling a Cornwell Tools hard tip dart board, which is sitting on the front table, on display and it will be drawn for on Pizza Night at 8:00. Please buy a ticket and good luck to you.
American Legion Riders response (motto)
We, your American Legion Riders, ride for God and Country, the American Legion Family and Allied Veterans everywhere. Protect those that protect us. Amen
God Speed,
Andy Ricketts
