From the Auxiliary President:
Happy February, the shortest month of the year!
Welcome March!
With the unusually high temperatures we’ve had this winter, the spring flowers are up and some are blooming. While you are cleaning up your beds, remember we will be doing the same at the Post. Trimming bushes, pulling weeds, mulching, etc. Look for the date to be posted on the bulletin board in the bar and come join us.
Thank you to all who are bowling on our league. A portion of the funds that are put into the bowling machine help to support our American Legion Post. The bowling schedule is posted on the board so that you know what week we are in. The league will end the week of March 26th.
If you are shopping on Amazon.com for your spring needs/wants, remember to use Amazon Smiles and select your favorite charity. Amazon donates a portion of your purchase to your charity at no additional cost to you. The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary are listed as charities. Every little bit helps.
Don’t forget to spring your clocks forward on March 12th.
Have a wonderful month of March and hope to see you at our next meeting on March 13th at 7:00 p.m.
God Bless our Troops past, present and future,
Rita

From the ALR Director:
From the American Legion Riders
As we begin a new year, I want to thank all the ALR members for electing me as Director, as well as my fellow officers, to lead the American Legion Riders of Post #79 for the 2017 year. As we go through the transition of new leaderships, please bear with us as we learn our new duties.
We hope to have some good ideas for events and rides planned this year that will not only benefit, but also represent the post, as we try to support our veteran’s, and local special need children.
We have lost many of our rider members last year and in the past and we are trying to remedy that, so we can make a better representation and presence of the post during our missions.
If there are any suggestions or ideas you wish us to fulfill, write it on a napkin or piece of paper and give it to any ALR member, or myself, and we will discuss it at our next meeting.
As riders, we love to ride and have fun in all we do for the post and community, and just again want to say THANK YOU for your support!
American Legion Riders response (motto)
We, your American Legion Riders, ride for God and Country, the American Legion Family and Allied Veterans everywhere. Protect those that protect us. Amen
