Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>2018 promises to be a great year, and I wish you all a very healthy, happy and successful New Year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thank you.<br \/>\nFor God and Country<br \/>\nBart Colvin<br \/>\nCommander<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mission Statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #ff0000; text-align: left;\" align=\"left\"><strong>The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by\u00a0Congress\u00a0in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. By attending the monthly meetings, checking your newsletter and reading the board at the Post, you will know of the events happening and volunteering opportunities.  Without everyone&#8217;s help and support, we would not be able to help our veterans, their families and our community.<\/p>\n<p>Have an idea of something you would like to see happen at the Post?  Bring it to our next meeting on Monday, January 8th at 7:00p.m. so you can let others know and it can be discussed. Remember, the body keeps the score.  Chemicals and other environmental factors may still lurk in one&#8217;s body and eventually reveal itself through one form of disease or another. He is at the Zionsville Meadows if anyone would like to go see him. He is in room 104 and that Schultzie is in room 130. <\/li>\n<li>Bart wanted to thank everyone who participated in the chili cook off.  Bart won judges choice and Deedee won people&#8217;s choice. <\/li>\n<li>Steve King brought up about going to the Veteran\u2019s Home New Year\u2019s Day.  He would like for anyone that wants to join in meet at Legion at 11:00am. They will be passing out goodie bags to 28 Vets.\n<li>Girl Scouts choose Honor Flight for a fund raiser they raised $1200.00 and presented Bart a check at pizza night. This will send 3 veterans on trip. <\/li>\n<li>Stuart made motion to accept minutes and Ed Hogan 2nd. <\/li>\n<li>Craig Sanders, Army member first time attending meeting talked about raising capital for post, would like to meet this weekend to discuss further. <\/li>\n<li>Rick made motion to accept hand rail, motion carried. Tom Woodrum suggested a handrail from parking lot to front door. <\/li>\n<li>The Homeless Veterans committee does not need firewood this year but needs house hold items and clothing. <\/li>\n<li>New Business Indiana Funeral Care needs escort to Madison December 26th. <\/li>\n<li>Rick talked about 1 x 4 in plaque as a fund raiser at $35.00 to put on bar. <\/li>\n<li>Meeting Adjourned at 6:45pm. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>From the SAL Commander:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I hope everyone had a great year.
